ICELAND AIRWAVES 2016

This time of year is great for reflection, planning for the year ahead and any adventures I might have along the way.  All in all 2017 is looking great.

I found myself missing Iceland a lot this week with Sonar festival being on and some close friends of mine posting images from it.  I have been going every year since 2014 for Iceland Airwaves and think of Reykjavik as a second home.

This year I took my housemate Rachael and her girlfriend Stef.  Our other friend Jess who is an Aussie was dying to go before heading back to Melbourne later this year so she came along as well.

We stayed in a great little open plan AirBnB near the Hallgrímskirkja Church which was a two minute walk from my favourite coffee house, Reykjavik Roasters.  Perfect.

We went to many gigs including Reykjavikurdaetur, Kiasmos and Mr Dizzy Rascal himself.  Far toomuch pizza was consumed we explored the vast surroundings of Iceland including the Golden Circle, DC Plane crash and the Blue Lagoon.

I even managed to squeeze in a shoot with Rachael & Stef as we wandered around the city.  The graffiti and the multi coloured houses made for a gorgeous backdrop.  I know when I go back this year I want to find a couple to shoot in the wilderness as it will just look mind-blowing.

I shall be going again this year and I would highly recommend it if you haven’t already been you should go.

TAKK!
