Well someone hasn't blogged for a while! After an incredibly hectic summer and autumn I have finally found a bit of time to catch up on my blog. Today’s entry looks at engagement shoots and this will be the first of many over the next couple of months - so grab a coffee and enjoy.
Engagement shoots can be a lot of fun; it’s the perfect way to get to know a couple before the big day, and as a couple it’s unlikely you’d have been photographed professionally before. As a photographer, it’s also a great chance for me to get to know how couples interact and any little quirks to pick up on before the special event.
One stand out session I’ve done includes my session with Rach and Adam up in Burscough, at a quaint farm house right next to the canal. Not only was it an ideal setting for the shoot but it had a lot of meaning behind it for the couple (I was even treated to some local history, Burscough Burh-skogr means fortress in the woods which is from its early viking roots!).
Greeted by Adam's parents and brother with some delicious homemade soup on the stove waiting for me; I couldn’t have felt more at home!
We had a wander around the canal and Adam told stories of growing up here and what antics he got into, which made it so much more personal.
I felt like I really got to know Rach and Adam and cannot wait to shoot your wedding at Bashall Weddings in September.
